Series Description:
How do we form our identities as we grow from children, to young adults, to new adults? What does it mean to grow up in America the child of two immigrants? To have one foot in two cultures, belonging to neither? How do you understand your place in the world with a sibling with a chronic disorder? How do you build a life around childhood, adolescent, and adult mental health issues? I'm attempting to answer those questions through my story, because you've got that story, too.

Naseem Jamnia is a writer, scientist, big sister, and stranger. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2013 with a degree in biology and creative writing, and is going to graduate from DePaul University's MS in bio in June. Hopefully.
She mostly spends her time in the lab, where she studies topics in neurobiology that interest her (and her advisor). Currently, that means rat models of concussions; in the future, hopefully models of psychiatric disorders. When she's in between tests, she's frantically writing, playing video games, or staring into space.
